New Worship Service Times
Beginning August 11, 2019, our Brentwood campus will be changing its worship service times to 9:00 a.m. in the Worship Center and 10:30 a.m. in both the Worship Center and Hudson Hall.
For the past ten years, the Lord has led our church to invest in the Middle Tennessee Initiative, addressing the needs of our communities and expanding the reach our church by placing regional campuses in strategic or underserved areas. Because of this initiative, Brentwood Baptist Church now exists as eight campuses located throughout Middle Tennessee.
Sent Out to Serve
Numerous resources have gone to support the initiative. Specifically, our Brentwood campus continued to send members out, asking them to worship and serve at other campuses. Nearly 1,500 members of the Brentwood campus answered the call, leaving to become a part of another campus. Many of those members served in leadership roles, such as LIFE Group leaders and Worship Team leaders.
The growth of most of our campuses continues to positively impact the Middle Tennessee area, but it also created space for new members and leaders on our Brentwood campus. So, for the past few months we’ve been led to refocus on the local reach of that campus, evaluating changes that could better enable our members and staff to more intentionally share the gospel with the thousands of new people who are moving into surrounding neighborhoods.
A Time to Make Adjustments
In a video sent to the Brentwood campus, Pastor Mike Glenn said, “Things don’t work the same way they did when I came in 1991. This is a different community and a different place. We are going to have to do things differently in order to be successful in our mission to reach people for Jesus Christ.”
As a first step in selecting the best changes to make in our ministry work, the campus leadership evaluated the most effective times to hold worship services with the intention of making it easier for new people to attend. The team found that the campus’s local community would better embrace new service times of 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and, as noted above, the campus’s service times will change at the end of the summer.
Just Us for Vision Night!
We continue to discover what the future of the church will look like, and Pastor Mike Glenn will share more details about our new approaches during a Brentwood Campus Vision Night, offered on two separate dates, July 21 or July 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Hudson Hall. There, Pastor Mike will cast vision for the campus’s renewed engagement in the local community.
We recognize that the Brentwood campus is uniquely equipped to continue to make a global impact for the kingdom of Jesus Christ; yet we are now reinvigorated in our effort to engage more fully with our local neighbors, individuals, and families within our reach who need to know the love of Christ. We realize that God is calling us to a greater work, and we look to the future with eager expectation for what is to come.
