The people of Ninevah were about as far from God as you could possibly imagine. However, when Jonah confronted them with God’s truth, they repented and sought God’s mercy. God has always promised to be faithful to the proclamation of His word, and the people of Ninevah are a prime example of this. Through this story, God teaches us that we must engage places and peoples who seem far from God because He can bring salvation to anyone.
