The Ministry Residency is a two-year, immersive ministry experience designed to equip, develop, and encourage leaders called to vocational ministry and kingdom advancement. Residents gain hands-on leadership training, spiritual formation, and practical ministry experience within the life of the local church.
Applications for the 2027–2029 Residency open November 1, 2026, and close March 1, 2027.
This experience prepares the next generation of Christian leaders (i.e. church planters, pastors, worship leaders, missionaries, disciple makers) to lead the church effectively through cohort learning environments, mentored supervision, and experiential ministry.
Some things are better caught than taught.
Ministry Residents learn ministry in a congregational setting and then reflect on that experience with seasoned practitioners. Just as a teaching hospital provides its residents with further clinical training and the opportunity to practice their trade, so too the Ministry Residency at Brentwood Baptist seeks to provide more intensive ministry training, mentoring, and practical experience within the context of a body of believers.
The journey is better with an experienced guide.
With the guidance of a supervising minister and the collegiality of their peers, residents receive a foundation for a lifetime of ministry in a safe and supportive environment.
The Ministry Residency at Brentwood Baptist allows for a variety of track-specific experiences, such as church planting, pastoral ministry, leading worship, missions, and disciple-making.
