Lockeland Update: Two Ways To Pray

Engaging East Nashville

On April 24 & May 1, Brentwood Baptist members voted to approve the merger of Lockeland Baptist Church in East Nashville into Brentwood Baptist Church. Since that vote, Brentwood Baptist has been working closely with the leaders and members of Lockeland to determine what’s next for this historic church.

Plans are being made for upcoming events to help build relationships with the people of East Nashville. A group has begun meeting every week to learn practical ways to make disciples within their community. Improvements are continually being made to the church building.

How You Can Pray

As we continue to partner with Lockeland in reaching the Lockeland Springs community, here are two specific ways you can pray:

1. Pray for upcoming opportunities to reach the Lockeland Springs community.

The church will host a Backyard Kids Club July 18-20 for children in the area. Then on July 21, they’ll host Family Night, complete with an outdoor movie. In August, the church will have a presence at East Nashville’s beloved Tomato Fest. Pray for relationships to be built through these events.

2. Pray for the ministry teams that are forming and beginning work at Lockeland.

Pray for the prayer team, Sunday worship team, disciple-making team, and community events team.

Please join us as we pray for God to continue working in and through this church and the Lockeland Springs community. If you’re interested in helping with any of these ministry teams or committing to Lockeland, email Jason Dukes at [email protected].
