God is working across Middle Tennessee in powerful, practical ways. One of those ways is through one of our local partners, Cul2vate, a ministry that grows food and develops people. Men in hard places, coming out of addiction, incarceration, homelessness, or trauma, find real support, steady work, and the truth of the gospel in action.
Cul2vate is based on two goals: to provide fresh produce for those who need it and to invest in men who are ready for a new direction. The men who join the program, called cultivators, don’t just learn how to farm. They experience stability, discipleship, and growth. They learn to work hard, serve others, and see how God hasn’t (and will never) given up on them.
This happens in the dirt. It happens in daily rhythms: preparing the soil, planting seeds, showing up again and again. And as the crops grow, so do the cultivators. The work is slow, steady, and aligned with the way transformation actually happens: one season at a time.
Many arrive at Cul2vate in survival mode. By the time they leave, they’ve developed job skills, relationships, and a renewed sense of purpose. The act of growing food becomes a visible reminder that new life is possible. When you plant something and tend it, and it grows—you begin to believe God can do that in your life too.
The impact stretches beyond the farm. Cul2vate donates produce to local food banks and ministries that serve food-insecure families across Middle Tennessee. That means every box of vegetables grown is part of a larger story, meeting real needs and creating space for gospel conversations.
This is the kind of work our church is passionate about supporting. In response to God’s leading, we are committed to pursuing 10,000 disciples making disciples, and to starting gospel conversations with our neighbors and the nations. Cul2vate reflects that vision right here in our own backyard—literally. One of their farms sits just behind the parking lot at our Brentwood campus.
God is using this ministry to restore dignity, to heal what’s been broken, and to provide for people both physically and spiritually. It’s not flashy. It’s not fast. But it’s faithful. And that’s the kind of ministry we want to say yes to again and again.
This is an opportunity to get involved in gospel work happening in Middle Tennessee. You can serve, give, or pray. You can walk alongside a man rebuilding his life. You can help harvest crops that will end up on the table of someone who needs them.
The harvest is plentiful—and the workers are out in the fields.
