Day 24 | Worthy of it All

Scripture: Mark 14: 1-10

Devotion

Nothing is more valuable than Jesus, and no offering is too great to be given to Him. In Mark 14, Mary, Lazarus’ sister, shows this truth uniquely. She sits at Jesus’ feet and worships Him with an expensive jar of perfume. The perfume she pours out is not a little gift; it is most likely a prized family heirloom worth nearly 20 years of wages.

Mary could have chosen to use just a portion of the perfume; even that would have been an extraordinary gift to Jesus. But her heart was set on wholehearted worship, giving without reservation. True worship doesn’t come in moderation, and true giving doesn’t either. Mary’s actions show us what it looks like to value Jesus above all else. Because she recognized His unmatched worth, she was willing to give it all, knowing that Jesus is of infinitely greater value than anything else.

Let Mary’s example encourage you today—give Him your complete devotion, holding nothing back. Worship Him with all of your being and everything you have since He is worthy of it all because it was all His to begin with.

A Personal Prayer
