The Default Destination

Judging by what’s said at most funerals, you’d think everyone is going to heaven. One of our greatest dangers is to assume that heaven is our default destination, but this is clearly not what

the Bible teaches. Instead, “small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” The reality of hell should break our hearts, bring us to our knees, and bring an urgency to reach those without Christ.

“I have met no people who fully disbelieved in Hell and also had a living and life-giving belief in Heaven” (C.S. Lewis). The biblical teaching of both destinations stands or falls together.
