Consider the words of the famous athlete who attempted a fifteen-hour swim in the fog but came up a half-mile short: “I think if I could have seen the shore, I would have made it.” Jesus told his disciples about heaven in common, physical terms (house, rooms, place) in order to give them tangible hope. Heaven is an actual place where will be with God forever.
