Paul doesn’t begin with a sense of urgency to combat the invading heresy as he does in I Timothy. Instead, the apostle opens with a reminder of the promise of life we have in Christ. Paul is suffering but is thankful for their relationship, anticipated reunion, and Timothy’s genuine faith.
