GOSPEL CONVERSATION OPPORTUNITY
Rebuilding what is Broken
Read Isaiah 61:1-4.
Think about what we read about Nehemiah this week. Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem to help build a broken wall. With Nehemiah’s help, the wall was repaired and the people turned back to God.
When I think about that, I can’t help but think about what God does with each of us. Because of sin, we are separated from God. We are broken. But, because of what Jesus did on the cross for us, we don’t have to stay broken. We can be forgiven and be made whole again.
God can take the sad parts of our life, the broken parts that are full of sin, and he can rebuild them and make us new! Read 2 Corinthians 5:17. Thank God- we are a new creation! The old has passed away and the new has come!

September Memory Verse:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; in all your ways know him,and he will make your paths straight.”
- Bring your Bible! Your kids need to see that everything you are reading to them or learning about comes from an actual Bible!
- Each day starts with a reading prompt. Read the selection as a family. If your kids are readers, encourage them to read along with you.
- After you’ve read the passage, read the short devotional thought that goes along with each passage.
- Prayer and application are important any time we read God’s word! After each devotional, there is a challenge to help apply what your family has read that day.
- There is a reading for six days of the week. The last reading of the week is a Gospel Conversation Prompt to help you connect the reading from the week with God’s plan for salvation.
