GOSPEL CONVERSATION OPPORTUNITY
This week’s reading about God’s presence leaving the temple and Jerusalem was sad, wasn’t it? Thankfully, because of what Jesus did for us on the cross by taking the punishment of our sin, we don’t have to worry about God’s presence ever leaving us. We also know that Jesus told us in John 14:26 that even though Jesus would not be on earth with us, God was sending a Counselor, the Holy Spirit, to guide us and direct us and never leave us. Thank God for that truth today!

Using the daily reading prompts from George H. Guthrie’s Read the Bible for Life, here’s how to use this devotional:
- Bring your Bible! Your kids need to see that everything you are reading to them or learning about comes from an actual Bible!
- Each day starts with a reading prompt. Read the selection as a family. If your kids are readers, encourage them to read along with you.
