“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way.”
—Psalm 37:23
For more than three decades, David and Laura have lived out a calling that began right here—on staff at Brentwood Baptist—before God led them to serve across Europe. Their obedience has taken shape in many ways: evangelism training, mobilizing Christian workers, developing leaders, and planting gospel seeds in a region known for spiritual disinterest. Now, as they approach a new chapter and prepare to step away from full-time ministry through the IMB, they continue to ask the same question they’ve asked since the beginning: “Lord, how do You want to use us next?”
They remain rooted in a community of believers in Edinburgh and continue leading a Christian charity that helps secure volunteer visas for Christian workers across the UK. Their passion for the next generation of leaders is as strong as ever, and they’re praying for wisdom as they discern where God is inviting them to invest their gifts next.
This year, they’ve made a meaningful impact on our campuses by leading gospel conversation trainings. These trainings have helped to equip our church family to have intentional gospel conversations in their own corners of the world, allowing us to have the tools to be on mission right where we are.
As you pray today, lift up these specific requests:
- Pray for clarity and sensitivity to God’s direction as David and Laura transition out of their IMB roles in late 2025.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to guide them in every conversation and opportunity—wherever they are—so they can point others to Jesus.
- Pray for their ongoing work with Serve 365 and the Leadership Development Network across Europe.
- Lift up Hope City Church in Edinburgh, asking God to move in the hearts of people throughout Scotland and draw many to Himself.
- Pray that their next season of ministry, whether near or far, would be marked by purpose, peace, and fruitful gospel conversations.
