GOSPEL CONVERSATION OPPORTUNITY
Read Luke 19:1-9.
Zacchaeus was a tax collector. In those days, the Jewish people did not trust tax collectors because they would take more money than they were supposed to, and they would treat the Jewish people unfairly. However, Zacchaeus had heard about Jesus and He wanted to see Him. Not only did Zacchaeus get to see Jesus, but Jesus also ended up having dinner at his house. The people judged Jesus for eating in the home of a tax collector. Jesus recognized that Zacchaeus was looking to make a change and to follow Him. Jesus did not let the fact that Zacchaeus was sinner stop Him from teaching Him. Because of Jesus’ willingness to reach out to Zacchaeus, Zacchaeus changed his ways and started following Jesus.
Jesus said, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and save the lost.” Zacchaeus was lost and Jesus sought him out and found him!
Ask God to help you have eyes to see people like Jesus did. Romans 3:23 says that we have all sinned. But Romans 6:23 says that because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we also all have access to the gift of eternal life.
