GOSPEL CONVERSATION OPPORTUNITY
Read Matthew 5:14-16
Turn the lights off in your house and make it as dark as possible.
Light a candle and talk about how the darkness disappears as soon as the light begins to flicker.
Spend some time talking about how we as believers are the light of the world. The world can be like the dark room. However, when we shine our light and show the love of Jesus to others, we can light the world!
Jesus taught us to let our light shine before others so that they could see our good works and glorify God. All that we do should point the people around us to God.
Is that true for you today? Ask God to help you find ways to light your world so that others can see Him through your actions.

Using the daily reading prompts from George H. Guthrie’s Read the Bible for Life, here’s how to use this devotional:
- Bring your Bible! Your kids need to see that everything you are reading to them or learning about comes from an actual Bible!
