Today’s Reading:
Read Acts 18:19-19:41
Moms and Dads- think of a time in your life when God answered a prayer in a miraculous way. Share that time with your family. Spend some time praising God for the way He provided in that situation.
As Paul traveled throughout Asia, God continued to use him to spread the good news of the gospel. Many people gave their lives to Jesus. Some of the followers of John the Baptist who had not heard that Jesus had come to fulfill the message John the Baptist had preached also heard about Jesus and became Christ followers.
God allowed Paul to perform miracles that demonstrated God’s power in a mighty way! The people who saw all that God was doing through Paul were amazed and became believers. Some people even tried to perform miracles themselves, but they were not successful because they did not do it in the name of the one true God. “In this way the word of the Lord spread and prevailed.” (Acts 19:20)
Application/Prayer:
Thinking back to the miracle you celebrated with your family, how can you share that miracle with others? Remember, as Paul performed miraculous signs, people began to believe in Jesus. Look for ways to let others know about Jesus by sharing all that He has done for you.
November Memory Verse:
“The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.”
- Bring your Bible! Your kids need to see that everything you are reading to them or learning about comes from an actual Bible!
- Each day starts with a reading prompt. Read the selection as a family. If your kids are readers, encourage them to read along with you.
- After you’ve read the passage, read the short devotional thought that goes along with each passage.
- Prayer and application are important any time we read God’s word! After each devotional, there is a challenge to help apply what your family has read that day.
- There is a reading for six days of the week. The last reading of the week is a Gospel Conversation Prompt to help you connect the reading from the week with God’s plan for salvation.
