Church Trustees make decisions for our church along with providing oversight to the staff and operations. They’re elected by and accountable to you, the members of Brentwood Baptist. It’s their job to keep us all moving toward God’s purposes by providing discernment and being your voice during the process.

Statement of Faith: Although I was raised in church, I didn’t accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior until I was in college.  While I tried to live out my faith over the last 57 years, it wasn’t until 9 years ago that I truly understood the reality of Christ in my life.  My wife of 24 years unexpectedly passed away leaving me and my three teenage children to figure out life as a broken family.  Through this trial, I was finally able to understand what “my grace is sufficient for you” (2 Cor. 12:9) really meant.  Now I know and feel the hope I have in Christ and think it is our responsibility to share that same hope with the lost and seeking in this world.  I believe in the one true God and that He loved us so much that He sent His son to this world that we might live through him.  I also believe the Bible is the infallible and inerrant word of God and that our lives and decisions should be lived in light of God’s word.

Statement of Faith:I am a sinner saved by the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ.  While attending a Billy Graham “movie event” (@ ~age11), I felt filled and called spiritually and made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thereafter, I was active in church as a youth and youth leader through my teens and continued to grow in my understanding of Christ and the scripture in college as well. When I was 30 years old, I was baptized into the Baptist church—a landmark moment in my life, as I more fully decided to live out the call on my life to make my Savior my highest priority. Since that time, for the past more than 30 years, I have always held ministry roles in the church, because serving where the Lord is moving brings me great joy. I love to study the Word of God and I find new depths there over and over.  I believe that apart from Christ, I can do nothing—but with Christ, I am more than a conqueror.  I believe that Christ, who has made me new, will be faithful to complete the work He has begun in me. I cannot imagine a life without knowing the peace, the indwelling presence, and the kingdom centered purpose that is “in Christ”.  As a Christian I seek to live my life according Matthew 5:3-12.

Current Service at Brentwood Baptist Church: Student Ministry SLT Mentor; Disaster Response Team
Past Service at Brentwood Baptist Church: Student Ministry LIFE Group Leader (since 1994); Finance Ministry Team (2003 – 2005); Missions Disaster Response Teams
Statement of Faith: As a child, I attended church sporadically, heard the Bible stories and was even baptized. My saving encounter with Christ, however, came as a somewhat rebellious 16-year-old. I was invited to a youth drama being presented by a church in my home town in Alabama. I heard the gospel in a way that made clear the grace of God and the gift of salvation of Ephesians 2:8-9. I discovered that God loved me in spite of all my failures (Romans 5:8) As a believer I am still amazed at the grace and love that Christ has for me and you.
