Mission Journeys

Each year, many of our members travel around the globe on mission journeys, short-term trips to a specific location to serve a people group in a particular way.

From medical clinics, to pastor training, to sports ministry, in places like Brazil, London, and Ukraine—as we go and serve, our primary goal is to share the good news of Christ.

  • Valid U.S. Passport

All journeys are available to people at all campuses. Members and non-members alike are welcome.

The project expenses for the team’s work will be covered by Brentwood Baptist.

Can I use points and book my own flight?

Yes. However, you would need to coordinate your flights with the team leader and plan on joining for the entire Mission Journey.

Can I go early or stay late outside the dates of a Mission Journey?

Yes. We have a process for that, although it might involve additional cost.

Do I need special vaccinations to travel?

No, not typically—but if a location requires a special vaccination, it will be listed on the trip details.

A current tetanus vaccination is typically required, however.

Do I have to be a certain age to serve in local missions?

It depends.  With most opportunities happening on or through our campus, all ages are welcome.  With some of our partners, however there could be  age requirements.  Reach out to the organization to learn of specific guidelines for their location.

How does a local ministry become a partner?

Our partnerships develop over time and after seasons of relationship, engagement, and missional alignment.  If you would like to learn more, please reach out to Missions Minister Brett Freemon.

What are global workers?

Global workers are members of our church who relocate cross-culturally for the purpose of sharing the gospel and discipling new believers and planting new gospel work. Their time outside the U.S. can vary from a few weeks to years.

Feeling led to take the next step toward serving cross-culturally in this way? Please contact Keith Holloway, our Missions Mobilization Minister.

Why do we send global workers?

In obedience to the Great Commission Jesus gave in Matthew 28:18-20, and following the example of the church in the book of Acts, we believe the church is called to send out from among it those who will go across barriers of culture, religion, language, and geography to make disciples.
