Brentwood Baptist church’s mission is “engaging the whole person with the whole gospel of Jesus Christ anywhere, anytime, with anybody.”

We have a two-step application process.

Each step is described below.

STEP 1: Filling out the application.

Read all the content below, including the linked documents. If in agreement, proceed to Step 1 and complete the application. This process will familiarize you with common standards, list internship opportunities, and provide us with information we need to determine your eligibility for Step 2.

It will also provide a place to:

  • Request the specific area for your desired internship;
  • Submit the desired length of internship (summer, semester, year-long);
  • Determine the type of internship.

STEP 2: Occurs after the application is received and accepted.

This step will only occur if your application is received and approved. You’ll receive an e-mail directly from the ministry area for which you’re requesting an internship. In communication with your supervising minister, you will discuss details about internship requirements, expectations, and compensation.

  • Step 2 includes a more comprehensive application, including an interview with the ministry leader. Specific requirements, expectations, compensation, and other ministry-specific areas will be explained.
  • A ministry leader will subsequently communicate whether you’ve been chosen to serve as an intern in your chosen ministry area.

Interns at Brentwood Baptist are ambassadors of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20) and representatives of the church. This is a tremendous responsibility. For this reason, we ask all employees, including interns, to be above reproach in their actions and attitudes. For further details, consult our Personnel Manual Section 5, related to employee conduct.

This expectation of conduct includes:

  • Submitting to supervisors, pastors, and church authority.
  • Having a work ethic that represents Christ and serves the church faithfully (Colossians 3:17).
  • Guarding your Christian testimony and the testimony of Brentwood Baptist through your actions and activities.
