Devotion

God has given specific roles—pastors, teachers, evangelists—to build up the church and prepare each believer to serve others in their unique calling. Every role within the church has a purpose, coming together to strengthen and expand God’s Kingdom.

Scripture teaches that all of it is “breathed out by God” and essential for equipping His people for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16–17). The Bible isn’t just a guide; it’s God’s living Word, actively shaping and preparing believers for the tasks He entrusts to them. As they engage with Scripture, they are equipped to lead, serve, and minister effectively. Are they daily seeking God’s wisdom in His Word, allowing it to prepare them for their calling?

Equipping leaders is vital to building up the body of Christ. As we engage with His Word and grow in our knowledge of who He is, we become better prepared to serve.

Today, ask yourself: How can I grow in understanding Scripture to better serve where He’s called me? How can I allow God’s Word to shape me into a leader equipped for His purposes?

A Personal Prayer

• Thank God today for the gifts He has uniquely given you to serve His body. Ask Him to grow in you a desire to build up the church, recognizing that all things belong to Him. Pray for unity within your church body and for hearts that come together in prayer, serving and equipping your community with love.

Pray for Our Community: Men of Valor

• Men of Valor is committed to transforming the lives of men in prison by introducing them to Jesus Christ and guiding them in discipleship to become men of integrity. Through spiritual mentorship and leadership development, Men of Valor equips these men to re-enter society as positive contributors, building a legacy of disciple-makers in their communities.
• Pray for the men in the Men of Valor program, that they would encounter Jesus in a life-changing way and embrace a new identity in Christ.
• Ask God to foster spiritual growth and discipleship, equipping these men to make a lasting, positive impact as they prepare to re-enter society.
• Pray for provision and resources for Men of Valor, enabling them to expand their reach and influence both within prisons and the community.

Prayer for the Nations: Global Worker, Eliza

• Eliza serves in the United Kingdom in Birmingham, England, partnering with Greater Europe Mission to minister among refugees.
• Pray for boldness in her gospel conversations and that she can effectively share the hope of Christ.
• Ask God to provide discernment as she adjusts to a new culture and to surround her with a biblical community for support.
• Pray for the refugee ministry and for local churches to continue advancing His kingdom through their partnerships.
