Scripture: Matthew 28:18–20
Devotion
Have you ever wondered, “Why am I here?” Many people know that God loves them, but so many struggle to understand what that means in their day-to-day lives. For some, their work feels like the source of their significance; the reason they are here on earth. For others, it’s their family. However, when we look at Matthew 28:18–20, we see one of the primary reasons we are here on earth: We are called to know God and make Him known. Your job, your family, your hobbies; all of these are not the reason you are here. They are the avenues through which you live out your calling. In other words, your family members are your most important disciples, and your coworkers and friends are gospel opportunities to make Christ known as you do life together.
When we have clarity on why we are here, we can focus on how to spend our time, talents, and treasures. God has given you a great task: to make His name known in your life. How are you doing with that? As we move into 2026, turn this year into a disciple-making year, committing to making Jesus famous. You have a church family cheering you on, an abundance of resources equipping you, and most importantly, the Holy Spirit, who will illuminate your path and give you everything you need to become a disciple-maker in 2026.
Jesus promises to be “with you always, to the end of the age” (v.20). This means there is never a moment when you walk alone. Jesus is cheering you on as you go and make disciples in His name. You aren’t alone. Live for the right things, and you’ll discover blessings that endure. You are loved, and you are sent!
A Personal Prayer
Ask the Lord to reveal people in your life who need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to bring someone who will disciple you as you grow in your walk with Him. Pray for courage and clarity as you follow Jesus throughout your week.

Pray for the Nations: Global Workers | Nathan & Lynna
After many short-term journeys across Europe, partnering with believers in more than a dozen countries and investing in the next generation of missionaries, Nathan and Lynna are moving to Europe. They’re eager to learn a new language, plant gospel seeds, and trust that God will use this season to bear lasting fruit for His glory and their good.
- Pray for Nathan and Lynna to be led by the Spirit and not by human wisdom in every decision, and for their marriage and health to remain strong as they prepare to move.
- Join them in praying daily at 10:02 for God to raise up the next generation of laborers for the gospel in Europe, that many would be sent and sustained in this work.
- Ask God to provide for all their needs, to give them wisdom as they dream of life as a family on mission, and to help them learn the language quickly so they can communicate the hope of Jesus clearly.
