Biblical community isn’t just a part of the Christian life—it’s the foundation that helps us grow and thrive together.

At Brentwood, it’s our goal to see every member involved in a group. We believe that accountability and fellowship are key in the life of every follower of Christ. When we gather together, we have the opportunity to encourage one another, share our struggles, and spur each other on towards deeper relationship with God.

Life isn’t easy. As followers of Christ, we’re told that our lives won’t be easy (John 16:33). But God has provided a way for us to walk through the hard times together. Through groups, we can bear one another’s burdens, pray for each other, and keep each other anchored in the truth of God’s word.

In Acts 2, we see the church form a community. These believers lived life together and provided a model of what we can and should do in our everyday lives.

We weren’t created to live life alone, we need each other. We need the support, accountability, and wisdom that comes from being part of a biblical community. So, I encourage you, if you’re not already involved in a group, seek one out- there are great groups already meeting in our church filled with great community ready to live life alongside of you.

A Personal Prayer

• Ask God to help you intentionally seek out and engage in a Biblical community that nurtures growth and equips you to serve others. Pray for eyes to see ways to minister to those around you, inviting them into community and serving them well to point them to Christ. Thank Him for the opportunity to invest in others’ lives and grow together in faith.

Pray for Our Community: Welcome Home Ministries

• Welcome Home Ministries provides a pathway to healing and freedom through addiction recovery support, mental health counseling, and recovery housing, creating a safe and compassionate environment for individuals seeking wholeness in Jesus Christ. Through addressing both physical and spiritual needs, this ministry guides people toward lasting transformation through the power of the gospel.
• Pray for those in Welcome Home Ministries’ care, that they would encounter Christ’s love, experience healing, and be transformed by the gospel.
• Ask God to bless the recovery housing with stability, community, and hope, providing each resident with a foundation for a new life.
• Pray for provision and resources to sustain Welcome Home Ministries as they meet the physical and spiritual needs of those they serve.

Prayer for the Nations: Every Girl Counts

• Every Girl Counts has been transforming lives since 2016 by breaking the cycle of poverty through secondary education for girls. By partnering with local schools, providing life skills training, and sustaining families with essential resources, they are making a significant impact in slum communities in Nairobi, Kenya.
• Pray for favor and strong connections with local relationships, that Every Girl Counts may effectively collaborate with schools and community leaders to maximize their impact.
• Ask God to empower the girls they serve, providing them with the wisdom and strength to pursue their education and develop essential life skills that will help them thrive.
