Today’s Reading:
Read Psalm 36
What is the tallest building you have ever seen? What about the tallest mountain? As a family, do some research and find out what the tallest mountain in the world is. How tall is it? While you’re looking, find out how deep the deepest part of the ocean is. It’s hard to imagine something as tall as the highest mountain or as deep as the deepest part of the ocean, isn’t it? How exciting to think that God’s faithful love and righteousness is also that big!
The author of Psalm 36 is King David. From all that we have read about David and how God chose him to be King, David had a lot of opportunities to see God’s faithfulness. There were probably a lot of times in David’s life when he had to trust in God to be there for him even though he was facing challenging circumstances.
Application/Prayer:
Draw a picture that shows how big you think God’s love is for you. (Be creative and have fun!). Thank God for his faithful love!
April Memory Verse:
If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:9-10
- Bring your Bible! Your kids need to see that everything you are reading to them or learning about comes from an actual Bible!
- Each day starts with a reading prompt. Read the selection as a family. If your kids are readers, encourage them to read along with you.
- After you’ve read the passage, read the short devotional thought that goes along with each passage.
- Prayer and application are important any time we read God’s word! After each devotional, there is a challenge to help apply what your family has read that day.
- There is a reading for six days of the week. The last reading of the week is a Gospel Conversation Prompt to help you connect the reading from the week with God’s plan for salvation.
