The Special Needs Ministry here at Brentwood Baptist Church seeks to serve families or individuals affected by disability. We strive to welcome all individuals, regardless of need, into God’s family and provide supports for success. The Special Needs Ministry’s focus is on providing both spiritual and physical help to individuals with disabilities and their families. We also realize the importance of a reciprocal relationship as we learn and benefit from one another’s gifts by having people with disabilities within the body of Christ.
Currently, we provide a teen or adult buddy as needed for all individuals in the preschool or children’s ministries to help support their success in their typical classroom setting. We have a teen class at both the 9:30 and 11 hours on Sunday mornings to help those individuals with special needs that are in middle or high school. These classes also provide teen buddies, along with adult teachers, and provide a time of both fellowship and Bible study. Our ministry also provides supports as needed on Wednesday nights. We are excited about many more opportunities to serve adults with disabilities as our ministry grows.
Young Life Capernaum
Young Life leaders have the privilege of knowing and sharing their lives with teenagers and young adults with disabilities. While all Young Life activities are open to every high school student, many Young Life areas have dedicated programs for students and young adults with disabilities, typically referred to as Young Life Capernaum Ministries (YLC). YLC-Williamson County meets here on campus for Monday night club and also hosts several fun fellowship events throughout the year.
