Lockeland Springs Disaster Response

Tornados in Nashville hit really close to home on the morning of Tuesday, March 3. We grieve over the loss of life and property.
Over the years, our church has responded to multiple disasters—the Asian Tsunami of 2004, Katrina in 2005, the Nashville Flood in 2010, and the 2017 hurricanes (Harvey, Irma, and Maria).
Moving forward, we will monitor opportunities to respond in a more hands-on way as we rebuild our Lockeland Springs campus, as well as minister to those in East Nashville and other areas of Middle Tennessee.
People often want to do something immediately. That’s absolutely understandable. However, we have discovered that our most significant contribution typically comes later. We do not want to get in the way of first responders, so below are the ways you can help now.

  • Ways You Can Donate

In addition to partnering with our local churches, we are in conversation with Begin Anew, Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief, and Project Connect to collect donation items.*
Items Needed: bottled water, diapers, hand sanitizer, flashlights, and batteries (no clothing, food, or furniture are needed at this time)
*Donations will be distributed to Project Connect as of now. Items collected beyond the current need at Project Connect will be distributed to other ministries in Middle Tennessee at a future time.

    How You Can Pray

Pray for victims, first responders, and for the church. In times like this, our community looks to the united church to be on the cutting edge of providing sustenance and care. May these natural disasters remind us to seize every opportunity with an urgency to share the gospel with the lost, the hungry, and the displaced among our neighbors and nations.

    Ways You Can Give

We have set up two designated funds:

    1. The first one is to help with the reconstruction of the Lockeland Springs campus.
    2. The second is to help with relief work in East Nashville and the other affected areas in Tennessee.
