We exist to create a safe and secure environment as we meet the unique needs of individuals and families impacted by disability, leading them to know Jesus, His love, and His purpose for them as they live on mission with Him.

Sunday Mornings

We provide special needs programming for birth through adults during both the 9:30 & 11:00 AM worship service times in our sensory and teaching classrooms, or in age-appropriate ministries.

Various levels of support are provided based on the needs of each individual.

Respite Events

We provide respite events to engage those impacted by disability in various fellowship and fun activities while their family enjoys a much-needed break.

These events are open to the community and not limited to members of Brentwood Baptist Church.

Embrace Community Day Program

Embrace Community is a weekday program for adults with disabilities in the Middle Tennessee region. Our goal is to enrich the lives of those impacted by disability by fostering community through recreational and leisure activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can we start regularly attending?

We require all new and returning families to fill out the registration form. Once complete, our team will reach out to schedule an intake meeting. At this meeting, we will discuss next steps from there.

For what ages do you offer supports?

We offer various supports for birth through adult to engage each individual at their level of functioning, in order to ensure appropriate levels of engagement and value.

Does my child have to stay in the Special Needs Ministry area, or can they attend their age-appropriate ministry?

We provide supports based on individual needs. It may be one of the following options:

  • Participating in their age-appropriate ministry with a teacher who is aware of and equipped for their needs
  • Paired with a Special Needs Ministry buddy who attends their age-appropriate ministry with them
  • Spending time in the Special Needs Ministry sensory and teaching classrooms for engagement and fun

May I come visit the Special Needs area?

Yes! You may contact Carley Ellis to schedule an in-person visit. You can also take a virtual tour of the Rowen Glenn Center by watching the video below.

When can I start volunteering?

  • Before volunteering, all volunteers ages 13 and older must complete the Volunteer Application and Ministry Safe Training.
  • Family serving starts at age 10 and requires that parents/guardians serve with them on a 1 child to 1 parent ratio.
  • All adult volunteers, ages 18 and older, will need to also have a clear background check.
  • We have dedicated volunteers who buddy weekly, every other week, or once per quarter.
  • Your attendance is based on your own availability and preference.
  • We will work with you to complete all necessary items to ensure the safety of our participants while getting you in to serve as quickly as possible.

Check out this training video for our new volunteers if you have additional questions.
