“This is how we will know that we belong to the truth and will reassure our hearts before him whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows all things.”
1 John 3:19-20
When Our Hearts Fail Us
I believe that one of the most difficult concepts for Christians to grasp (myself included) is that God has forgiven all our sins: past, present, and future. That concept is so difficult to grasp because we only have mortal brains to think and create our understanding with.
Satan is constantly replaying our sins in our minds so as to derail and confuse us. That is why our hearts fail us.
Louder than Our Shame
Satan creates doubt, which then produces fear in our hearts. Satan is the author of confusion and hatred. The result of this hatred is deception and destruction. God knows everything and forgives everything once we accept Jesus into our hearts. God is truth and love; in this truth we belong. The results of His love are help and healing. God is the best antidote for fear.
God’s love speaks louder than the condemnation and shame of our hearts.
Love and Belonging
Love—in this truth you belong. This is the truth we must remain in through constant prayer. This is the truth we must live in always. The truth comes from the soul and creates freedom. Satan is a liar and a deceiver. There is no truth in him, nor is there love.
“Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'” (John 8:31)
Now What?
Are you reading and studying God’s Word? The truth is in the pages of the Bible. Are you praying constantly? Prayer gives us peace and assurance. Satan is a liar and a deceiver; God is absolute truth and love
