Greetings from Malaysia!

We’re the Gonyeas, and we’re currently serving in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We really have two aspects to our ministry. The first is helping oversee the degree diploma program and Equip Gospel Ministries.

Nurturing, Equipping, Transforming

Equip Gospel Ministries is an organization devoted to two goals: reducing biblical illiteracy in the Malaysian church and training up the next generation of gospel-focused Malaysian church leaders. The second aspect of our ministry is that of the local church. We both serve at Gospel City Church Kuala Lumpur, a church that we helped plant about three years ago with many other people.

I’m on the preaching/teaching team ministry there. I preach regularly, and I help lead small groups as well. Lillian teaches children’s Sunday school and is on the hospitality committee. That’s a little bit about our ministry here.

As far as some specific ways that you can pray for us—there are really two ways. Number one: that God will allow us to remain faithful to our mission here amidst a time that is unpredictable and chaotic with the ongoing pandemic.

Number two: we just moved into a new apartment complex. We are surrounded by neighbors who do not know Jesus, so will you pray that God would give us opportunities to share the gospel with them and that He would open their hearts so that they can know Jesus?
