For This Child I Pray | Week 38

“The Spirit of God has made me, the breath of the Almighty gives me life.” —Job 33:4

Your little one is as big as a miniature watermelon. This little small watermelon is weighing around six to eight pounds. Your baby’s body is preparing to enter this world. This week, God is strengthening your baby’s lungs and his or her vocal cords have developed, which means they are ready to communicate through wails and cries.

Did you know that throughout God’s Holy Word there are over 400 references to singing? There are also 50 direct commands to sing to our great Creator which brings honor and glory to the Him. But, did you know that He also sings over us?

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will quiet you by His love, He will exult over you with loud singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).

Now, we see how important these lungs and vocal cords are! Yes, we use them to breathe, communicate, hum, cry, speak, wail, squeal, and sing. My encouragement to you is when your little one is crying and you are challenged in that moment, cling to Zephaniah 3:17 as God gives you strength and is singing over you. Also, pray that your baby’s healthy lungs and vocal cords will one day be singing to our Amazing Creator, too.
