For This Child I Pray | Week 35

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” —1 John 1:19

Can you believe there’s only five more weeks until you have reached full- term? God is putting the finishing touches on your precious little one. Isn’t it amazing how God has and is “knitting together” your baby (Psalm 139:13)? Each muscle, organ and body part is being created and designed for a specific purpose. Praise God today that your child is being fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

During week 35, your child’s bladder is being developed. As you think about the intricacies of his or her development, reflect on the purpose of the bladder, whose primary function is to store waste and impurities in the body until they can be discharged.

Just as God created the bladder to help remove impurities from our bodies, He designed a way for the removal of spiritual impurities. We call this confession. When we sin, a barrier is created between us and God, which interrupts our fellowship with Him. Instead of covering our sins, we should confess them, believing in God’s Word that He is faithful and righteous to forgive us, cleanse us, and heal us as He brings us closer to Himself.

This week, spend time in confession and in praising and thanking God, our creative Creator. He has a detailed and specific plan and purpose not only for our physical bodies, but our spiritual bodies as well.
