“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” —Psalm 16:11
This week, we are praying for your precious baby’s cheekbones. When I think of cheekbones, I imagine a happy, little, baby’s face grinning up at me. As you smile or laugh, your cheekbones become pronounced, a visible sign of joy.
Pray this week that your child one day intimately know the One who is knitting them together in your womb right now. Pray that your baby will feel true joy—a joy beyond circumstances that is only found in their relationship with Christ. Happiness is fleeting, but true joy is a constant light in a dark world. The presence of God in your baby’s life is the only ingredient in the recipe for perfect joy. You won’t have to worry about them as long as you know that their soul is safe in His presence.
God has entrusted this precious soul to your care. Endeavor to never take this honor lightly, but always approach His throne for wisdom and guidance as you raise this gift from God. Never forget that your personal relationship with Christ is the most important thing in your life. Loving your child well means loving your God best. This love yields heavenly joy on earth. It’s the aroma of Christ to your child and the world around you. As the joy of God fills your heart, it will spill over on those around you. Your baby will have the privilege of witnessing the truth of the gospel in action, and that is the most powerful witness.
