“The Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” —John 14:26-27
Often when my mother sees my husband, she will comment to him that he “needs to put some meat on his bones.” She sees it as among her highest calling to keep all her loved ones fed to the point of looking a little plump. Well, for week 25 of pregnancy, your baby is doing just that.
Your sweet bundle of joy is continuing to develop baby fat and their bones will begin to have some “meat on them.” In our culture, when we talk about body fat, it’s usually in the context that we want to lose some. However, God created our bodies to form fat so that we can stay warm, absorb nutrients and have energy.
As the Lord continues to create your child, He is ensuring they have a physical source of nourishment, comfort, and strength. As He does that in the physical body of your baby, spend time realizing that He is doing the same thing in your life as well. The nourishment, comfort, and strength He offers you today isn’t limited to your physical body. If you are a follower of Jesus, God provides that to you in the person of the Holy Spirit, who lives within you and is as real as that sweet baby growing in your womb. He is a constant and eternal source of all that you need for the abundant life for which you were created.
