For This Child I Pray | Week 20

“Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them.” —Psalm 139:16

Our prayer calendar for today indicates how truly unique your baby is becoming.

The development of the epidermis is the final answer for all our interaction with the outside world. Our senses of touch, balance, pain, heat and cold, etc. are developing at this time. Just as the epidermis is covering to interact with the physical world, so Christ is covering for the spiritual world. “He will cover you with his pinions and under his wings you may seek refuge” (Psalm 91:4).

The most remarkable features now developing are the tiny handprints and footprints that will make him or her distinguishable from every other human being on earth. Think about that for a moment. God is saying, “No matter who you are, or where you go, I can find you for You are Mine!” And, as the psalmist said in reflection of God, “For Thy didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks unto Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: wonderful are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” (Psalm 139:13).

What comfort and peace to know that His eyes are upon your little one and that each day of his or her life is already established by God Almighty.
