For This Child I Pray | Week 13

“From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for Him.” —Isaiah 64:4

Oh, the sweet and hidden wisdom of God. At week 13, your precious baby is the size of a sweet, little peach. The ears and the eyes on your baby’s head will move to their normal position. Oh Father, that you would prepare this baby to hear and see You in all of Your majesty. May his or her heart be stirred by what they see in Your beautiful creation and by the gospel that they hear. As their heart matures and grows tender to Your voice, may they hear You and look to see where and how You are working, for You are working on their behalf. Why do You work on behalf of your children? Because, You love them!

As your little one begins to look more human-like and the head slows down in growing, may you know that your child is made in the image of God and that He has prepared you for such a time as this. Understand that your job isn’t to be the best mom ever, but the calling on your life is to teach your baby about the Lord’s infinite love. For He made you, Momma, and is working in your womb to fashion His child and gift to you.

This week as your baby’s head, face, ears, eyes, and intestines take their place, be reminded of how much the Father loves you and your child. Know that He acts on the behalf of you and your sweet baby. Rest well, Momma. There is no one besides Him. He is at work!
