“You know the way to where I am going.”
Lost and Off Course
Have you ever really been off course? How do you know where you’re going? Did you use any of the following? Maybe a compass, a scribbled note on a napkin, meticulous hand-drawn map, filling station road map, or a computer-generated map?
It doesn’t matter what you used… Sometimes, you are lost and need help. You might feel hopeless. Where are you? What are you going to do? How will you get yourself out of this quagmire?
Do You Feel Lost?
We can experience lostness in a variety of ways, like maybe lost physically as we can’t find our way out of a woodsy trail. Or we might feel lost emotionally, unable to make a logical or reasonable decision. We might be struggling in a marriage and unsure about whether to stay or to go.”
We might feel lost spiritually, as though God has abandoned or forsaken us.
In John 14, Jesus reassures His disciples that even though He was leaving them by way of crucifixion and going to heaven, He wasn’t leaving them forever; He was making a path for them to join Him. We have this same compelling assurance that no matter what happens in our daily lives, we are covered by God’s love and protection. He will never forsake us even though we might feel lost.
Consider your answers to the following questions: Do you know where you’re going? Have you lost hope? Where is your confidence? What has happened to the Savior you once believed could save you?
Jesus is the same today as He was the day you decided to follow Him. Return to the beliefs you were taught. Realign your life with Him. Trust Him to get you back on the right path and to restore your hope and reliance in Him. If you’ve never placed your trust in the Savior, don’t wait!
