He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:2
There is authority in the testimony of a firsthand account. Having not been there ourselves, the greatest source of truth we have comes from those who saw it with their own eyes. Yet, even human testimonies can leave out important details. Jesus was there from the very beginning of all things and is the greatest source of truth we have. He is full of all wisdom, knowledge, truth, and power. Therefore, he is fully trustworthy in all things. But how often do we find it hard to trust him in our lives, despite what we know is true about him? We weren’t there and we don’t see the full picture like he does.
Those words in John 1 are a reminder that he was and always has been there. When we can’t see what’s going on or understand why our circumstances are what they are, he knows. We can put full trust in Him simply because of who he is. We put trust in our pastors, our community, and our friends, which we certainly should be able to. But even more so, we put our trust in Jesus who has not brought us this far to forsake us now. He saw where you are before you even arrived there yourself. Philippians 1:6 tells us that “he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ”. So, we can trust him with our future even when it seems uncertain.
Remember that he knows everything from beginning to end. What seems impossible now is something he already has victory over. Trust him to lead you through your storms because he already knows, and is, the way.
