Adult Minister – Groups Associate

Paul Wilkinson

Paul was ordained at Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken, SC on May 31, 2015. He graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY with a PhD in Philosophy of Religion in that same month. After joining Brentwood Baptist Church in 2012, Paul taught a series of apologetics and theology Focus Studies until being accepted as an intern in Adult Discipleship in June 2015. He now serves as the Groups Associate for the Adult Discipleship department. His passion is to see leaders come to a deeper understanding of their faith and mission in order to be the Christlike shepherds of God’s people that they have been called to be.

Paul is married to Shelly who teaches math at Hillsboro High School. Being from Oak Ridge, TN, she lured Paul away from his beloved South Carolina to settle in wonderful Tennessee in 2011; Tennessee is now home. They met at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC at the Methodist Campus Ministry, and they married in 2008.

When not at work, Paul enjoys spending time with Shelly and their two dogs, watching tv, taking walks, and trying new foods. Paul’s former life as a Chemical Engineer may be the genesis of his pleasure in cooking. Perhaps now that they are both finished with school they might be able to travel, teaching theology, pastoral ministry, math, and education in various countries.
