Beryl Corey

Beryl Bruffey Corey is the Member Care Minister of The Deaf Church of Brentwood Baptist and created Walk Ministry, a biblical counseling program for Deaf. She is a graduate of Southern Seminary (‘95) and has held a licensed master of social work for eighteen years. She is a certified ASL interpreter and began interpreting at the age of 9. Her parents (Deaf) served 40 years with the Home Mission Board. She is bilingual (native signer) and bicultural. She understands the complexities and differences of English and American Sign Language. Beryl has worked with Deaf in a ministerial capacity for twenty years. She has also worked with summer camps for over eighteen years developing future leaders. She has ten years of experience in Mental Health and Deafness, served Family and Children’s Services as an advocate for Deaf children, provides family and individual counseling services, mentors young women, and has training in working with college-age students.

Beryl resides in Franklin with Scott, her husband of 18 years. Scott is bi-vocational, serving as Student Minister (1999) at the Deaf Church. They enjoy being aunt and uncle to many amazing children, have a love for Deaf youth and young adults, and are Southern Seminary graduates. She enjoys the outdoors and time with her family.
