A Christmas Craft: Ornaments of Love

For God So Loved!

One of the best parts of the Christmas season is when we get a chance to decorate for the holidays. With this craft, you and your family will have a chance to create ornaments that showcase God’s love for us through Jesus… And best of all, you can create ornaments to share with your neighbors. How can you best share His love through this fun, family activity?

Ornaments of Love

Supply List

1 cup cinnamon
⅔ cup applesauce
⅓ cup glue
Cookie cutters (Heart-shaped would be great!)
Rolling pin
Parchment paper

  1. Add the cinnamon to the applesauce and glue. Mix your ingredients together until a smooth ball of dough is formed. If the dough is runny keep adding cinnamon until you have a dough-like consistency.
  2. Roll the dough out between parchment paper. Use cookie cutters to craft it into the shapes you would like.
  3. Poke a little hole at the top with the end of a straw.
  4. Carefully place your ornaments onto a cookie sheet. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for two
hours. If the ornaments are still not completely dry, you can leave them out on the counter to dry.
  5. Once they are dry, you can add loop the string through your ornaments and get ready to hang them up on your tree!
