Looking for What You Cannot See

Bill Wilson Jr. · 2 Corinthians 4:1; 5:2

This week, we're fortunate to have Bill Wilson Jr. as our guest.

Bill's dad was the founding pastor of Brentwood Baptist. I first met Bill Sr. and Creely as dad and mom of Bill Jr. when we were in seminary. We've been friends ever since. Bill was a groomsman in my wedding. Back then, I had no idea his dad would become one of the most significant mentors in my life, and that I'd have the privilege of following him in ministry as the pastor of the church he began.

I'm glad to be able to welcome Bill Jr. home to Brentwood Baptist today. Here's the best thing I can tell you about him: he inherited the best parts of his mom and dad! He has his father's heart for ministry and his mother's passion for missions. He's a pastor's pastor (sounds like his dad) and a visionary for how local churches can best impact their communities (sounds like his mom).

I know you'll join me in welcoming Bill to our services this week. As we listen prayerfully, I'm confident God's Word will be spoken to us through him.
