When children are removed from their homes, and before they are able to get into a foster home they come to a "safe house." In this place they have a moment's peace, get clothing, toys, and basic supplies, simply knowing they are safe. On October 21 we will help the Metro Safe House to turn over their supplies and closets from spring/summer clothing to fall/winter clothing. We will also help organize these areas for accessibility and ease of using what is there. Social workers in the area access these resources weekly as needs arise. We will need approximately 50 people to help with this project. This is a great way to peek behind the curtain to understand what children in crisis situations experience as they leave one setting and prepare for the next.
